Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS

Once I learned a lot more about photography, I decided it was time to upgrade my kit lens that came with my Canon 80D.  I learned a ton by using the nifty fifty and the ultra wide angle Canon EF-S 10-18mm IS, but I found myself no longer interested in using the 18-55mm lens that I already had. I did some research and found the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS.  Many touted this lens as nearly L-quality for the APS-C line, so I jumped on a great used deal and upgraded.

The upgrade was well worth it!  The lens is super sharp and has great low light due to the constant wide aperture.  It also has great Image Stabilization which further helps in lower light.  All kinds of shots I tried before but didn't work were now possible.  I really enjoyed using it for just about any subject and it was tough to sell when I moved to the Canon 6D Mark II.

When I would grab my 80D to head out of the door, this lens was always the default option.  If you have an APS-C camera this is a great standard option.  It will bring new life to your photos!

Below are some of my favorites from the time that I had this lens!
